Hiking trail: Biberbrugg Train station - Raten, bus stop Alosen
It is time for something new!
For my first Gipfel, I decided to do something easy. I haven't been hiking since the end of February, because I wanted to start with blogging. It took some time for me to organize, to really realize what I want, and to really start with the posting.
The weather was supposed to be sunny all weekend. And guess what? - it really was.
I left already early in the morning, because as my dad always said: ''In the morning are the mornings most beautiful.'' (I didn't believe it as a teenager when he woke me up at 7 am on Sundays - but now I do). It was 8 in the morning, the mountains of canton Schwyz that could be seen on the highway, were already really bright - a sign of a beautiful sunny day.
The trail starts at Biberbrugg Trainstation. There are a bunch of parking spots in front of the station, as well as a few meters away, in case you want to go with a car. While hiking I recommend to stick to the map that's on the website and not the yellow signs. Those will take you to Raten as well, but you'll have to hike on the main road, when following the map the whole trail goes in the forest and on meadows. How do I know this? Well it was my first time doing the challenge and I was lazy to check the map all the time, so I got lost several times!
The hike itself is easy, also for families, and the views are just amazing. If you don't get lost, the hike takes about 2h 40min without a break.
The map took me all the way to St. Jost where is a Hütte, a little chapel, benches, a place to grill and a playground for the kids.
After a short break I still had 15min of walking, until I came to the bus stop in Raten, where I found the code and so the first challenge was done.
To go back to Biberbrugg I needed to take the bus and change to another one in Oberägeri. The village itself is so beautiful, but unfortunately I didn't had time to stay. So I guess I got now an excuse to go back.
With love from Switzerland
